My Ariel Items Wishlist

I am always on a lookout for new Ariel items on ebay. Everyday, I never fail to make that mandatory search. Majority of Ariel collectible finds I actually bought from ebay at a really reasonable price.

So this morning, I mindlessly searched using my favorite keyword "Ariel collectible." The first few pages were pretty much the same ones I have been seeing in my usual daily search. But, on about the 5th page of the search results, a rare Ariel figurine from Japan really caught my eye. My jaw literally dropped open out of sheer excitement. I have been keeping an eye of this item ever since I saw this beautiful Ariel figurine in one of my go to Ariel collection sites, www.mylittlemermaid.com. And apparently, the item is actually sold by the owner of the site.

It is actually one of the best Ariel pieces that I really want to own. It captures that youthfulness that I really love about Ariel. And the pose is definitely Ariel to a tee! I especially love the expression on Ariel's face, the flow of her hair like it's floating under the sea and the transparent green fin. Exactly how I like my Ariel to look like. Apart from that, the seashell Ariel is sitting on lights up and plays parts of "Under the Sea" and "Part of Your World." I know! Cool, right?

So immediately, I looked at  the cost and my heart sank because the price is too high for my budget. tsk tsk :( The item does, however, have an option to make an offer. I will try my luck to see if the owner will grab the offer I will make. Fingers crossed here, especially because the price I am willing to offer is very cheap LOL I am really, really, really hoping I get the item.

When I found this item, it got me thinking of my Ariel items wishlist to add to my growing collection (which I will soon start featuring). So here is a rundown of my top Ariel wishlist. In no particular order, of course. Because who cares, I love them all because it's all Ariel hahahaha

1. WDCC "He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not..."

First up is a WDCC item. I really love WDCC figurines because of its intricate detailing that captures the essence of a Disney character. I got my first one, the Seaside Serenade Ariel, in 2011 and just last year, the Seahorse Surprise. Both of which I got for a really good bargain price in ebay. So, I really want to add a few more.

That is why I am really dying to get my hands on the "He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not..." WDCC figurine. I found one in ebay but the price is too high. I am waiting for good bargain for this one. Just look at Ariel's face on this figurine, so dreamy :) And Sebastian is so delicately done and captured his tense emotion.

2. WDCC "It Looks Just Like Him, It Even Has His Eyes"

Next up is another WDCC figurine. This one is really expensive hahahaha So, I have got a feeling I will never own this one unless someone sells a used item on ebay hahahaha

3. Ariel Figurine from UK

Here are two other items I found on the MLM site that I am really dying to own. The first one is an Ariel figurine from UK. I actually found this one being sold on a UK toy site. Unfortunately, they do not ship internationally.

4. Franklin Schmidt Crystal Ariel and Flounder

The next one is a Franklin Schmidt Crystal Ariel and Flounder figurine. I actually found one on ebay for a really good price a few months back. I made a bid for the item. But, I did win it. Too bad. tsk tsk.

5. Ariel Gallery of Light Box

Oooooh and this one too! I actually found one for a discounted price at www.fantasiescometrue.com (a really cool Disney collectible site, by the way. And the owners are really nice! :D). It's the "Wishing To Be Part of Your World" Ariel Gallery of Light Box. Ariel is placed in an intricately designed frame box and lights up by flicking on a seaweed switch hihihihi

6. Aqua Fantasy Film Premiere Ariel Doll

I also want to add a couple of Ariel collectible dolls to my existing doll collection. One is the Aqua Fantasy Film Premiere 1997 Ariel Doll. I just love the color of the dress.

7. Ariel Summer Seas Enachanted Seasons Collection Doll

And the other one is the Ariel Summer Seas Enchanted Seasons Collection 2000. I really love the deepness of Ariel's red hair. I actually found quite a few of these on ebay. I just do not have enough courage to buy these dolls as of the moment. :D

Other wishlist priorities are the Ariel Vinylmation, the Funkopop Wise Crack Ariel, the Ariel with Flower Glitter Pin and The Art of Ariel coffee mug (white/aqua).

I know this is a long list hahahahahaha But, I will slowly have them all LOL I just really need to find the best bargain. Plus, I really need to save up and earn more to be able to buy all of these hahahahahaha Especially since my credit card bill has skyrocketed the past few months with all the Disney Ariel items that I have bought.

It really does not matter. My pocket may be sad but my face will always have a wide smile plastered on it everytime I look at my little Ariels. :")

Photos of the Ariel items are not mine. All are grabbed and properly credited by linking to the image URL.

A New Addition

Yesterday, I bought The Little Mermaid Diamond Edition Blu-ray Disc. Finally, yey! J

Ever since they announced it last year that they are releasing a blu-ray version of the movie, I knew that I had to buy it. But here’s the thing, I do not own a blu-ray disc player hahahahaha Oh well, I did not care even it did cost me a lot.

I actually own the Diamond Edition DVD, which I bought as a Christmas gift for myself last December 2013. The resolution of the whole movie is definitely enhanced, a far cry from the old edition of the movie. It also includes the Fathoms Below Deleted Scene and the Fight with Ursula Alternate Ending. It pretty much is just a rough sketch of the supposed scenes complete with very raw audio. Interesting actually, especially the alternate ending.

On the blu-ray disc, it contains Jodi Benson's Voyage to the New Fantasyland (also found on the Diamond Edition DVD) and the Harold the Merman Deleted Scene. I actually saw this deleted scene on Youtube, and found it an interesting scene. A good precursor to what would be the fate of mermaids who does not fulfill their deals with Ursula.

Apart from these two, I also own a three-disc collection of The Little Mermaid Trilogy Box Set, which I bought in 2007 I think. It’s got a nice box design, which what made me buy it in the first place.

What I really liked about the Special Edition of the original movie in this set is its bonus features. I got to learn a little bit of history about the movie – from the conceptualization down to the final product that we all so love up to this day. Pretty cool featurettes actually J

A little trivia I learned from the bonus tracks is that Ariel was originally designed to be blonde.  I know right?! Good thing they changed it to her signature red hair. She would not be as iconic if she were the typical blonde mermaid.

And The Little Mermaid III: Ariel’s Beginning contains lots of insightful tidbits about her sisters. It was pretty neat to read all their profiles on the disc :D

However, I have a confession to make. Actually, my very very very first Little Mermaid DVD is actually a pirated DVD *gasps* I know, bad Lee.

But I am a changed person now. That is why even if it cost me quite a lot of money, I really bought the original blu-ray disc weeeeeeee This is pretty good reason to actually buy a blu-ray disc player right now hahahahaha

So, what’s next? I am eyeing my sights on the 3D disc this time LOL

The First Splash

From that very first moment when I saw the young girl with a fin, I knew instantly that she will hold a special place in my heart.

Her long, luscious flaming red hair
Her shimmering aqua-green tail
Her sweet and beautiful voice
Her incessant desire for knowing
And her tenacity to follow her heart
Ariel listened to her own voice and heart, above all others.

I know this may sound silly to some. But deep down in my heart, I truly believe that beneath the ocean waves, my Little Mermaid exists.

I know that she is out there somewhere.

Please come and join me in my very own treasure throve of the world’s most beloved mermaid – Ariel.

This blog is specially dedicated to my intense fascination (fixation, to a point) of my Little Mermaid Ariel. I will share with you my collection of everything Ariel (and mermies and Disney) and my sometimes very silly and childish thoughts and mundane daydreaming.

So, come on! Be part of my world! (hahaha I just had to say that. Shameless, I know)

See you around fellow Ariel lovers!
